Sandy Clark
Sandy Clark is a British conductor and composer whose compositions have been performed across the UK and internationally. After graduating from the University of Hull in 2014 with First Class Honours, he pursued a Masters in Composition at Trinity Laban under Stephen Montague. Since returning to Hull, he has completed his PhD, “The Siren: Towards accessibility in the composition of a multimedia episodic opera” under Mark Slater, the product of which premiered in July 2018. He is now the A-level music teacher at Wyke Sixth Form College, and hopes to expand the musical landscape in the city for young people. As Musical Director, Sandy enjoys the opportunity to work with Hessle Sinfonia every week towards the shaping of the music for the concerts, and relishes the challenges of the exciting repertoire that the orchestra performs.
